It's a good thing I took several years of gymnastics as a kid and am still flexible. I spent a while caulking the new g.h. ridge beam on Sunday. I could only step on the "rib supports" that are about 3 inches wide and couldn't step on the polycarb. So, with one hand holding the caulking gun and ridge beam I had to side step carefully on the ribs and caulk the top, while not falling off and breaking my neck. DH was having a fit and thought it best to take pictures to remember me by. Also, in case the police and CSI team questioned my death. He calls me Monkey Girl now. It's only like 15 ft. high, sheesh, what a wuss.

I've lost motivation with winter finally here. It's getting down to 70's in the day and 30ish at night. Brrrr. ;> I still have to have all the systems run and put in the floor, so it won't be until Spring, I imagine.

THanks, Alexis. It's not as practical as I'd like, but it looks good. And the snakes love it.

My other g.h. gets full sun all day. This g.h. will be for paphs, bulbos etc. that prefer lower light levels. I'm also going to see if my phrags will do o.k. in the area that gets the most sun. Plus, it's winter now, so lower light. I may even have to install shade cloth when Spring comes.

Thanks. Still not operational. We're waiting for our friend to do the electrical. Before he was our friend he did the electrical for my current g.h. and did an awesome job. He was in charge of the elec. for UCDavis' g.h. so he knows what he's doing! Anyway, he's fallen on some hard times...his wife had 2 heart attacks and several strokes and she needs round the clock care. He came out a few weekends ago to see what needed to be done. Hopefully, with the nice weather coming he'll be able to do it soon.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope he will have some time so work on your project soon. Sound like it will be worth the wait. What an amazing space to work with! Keep us posted!
