    Hello growers,

Can you please help me with this.

    I live in Italy,
    Spring from march to june
    Summer from june to september
    Fall from september to december

•When to start/stop using fertilizer to promote leaves and roots production?

•When to start using fertilizer to promote flowers/bloom production?

    Fertilizer Brands:
    Orchid Focus Grow 1.83 : 1.19 : 2.15
    Compo Orchidea 3 : 4 : 5

The Compo Orchidea's lable says to use from march to october, but my point is i want roots and leaves production as well.

And should i feed half strength weekly or every 2 weeks?

    Thank You.

I grow indoor, so Phals grow all year. I fertilize every irrigation at 30ppmN. For the first one (Orchid Focus Grow), 1.64ml of the fertilizer (I'm assuming that it is liquid) in 1l of water gives about 30ppmN.

I agree with Naoki. In the rainforests where many orchids originate, they are fed every time it rains, which can be daily, if not several times a day. Feeding your plants at a very low concentration of water-soluble fertilizer at every watering is the best way to mimic that.

If you divide 2.3 by the %N on the fertilizer label, the result is the ml to add to a liter for 25 ppm N, so rounding up or down for convenience is no issue.

By the way, despite the marketing hype, there really is no such thing as a "growth" or ""bloom" formula. Feed the plants a small amount of mineral nutrition regularly, and give the plant the growing conditions it needs, and it'll grow and bloom to its maximum, genetically-programmed capability.
