Didn't notice the mini Ang discussion until just now...

@ Dale: It is gorgeous! Isn't that reason enough? I suppose your photos somehow made it look better than it actually is, but i doubt it. For someone who loves Angs in general, that is a truly great one. I could almost smell it.

And I've never seen that species for sale anywhere. I'd certainly love to know where one might obtain such a thing. The only Cyrtorkis species I've ever found for sale were at Hoosiers and consist of two. Cal used to have one or two I guess but no longer that I'm aware.

Were you being serious about multiple basal offsets? *drools*
    :D

Hey Peter, I was looking at your Flickr photostream and I remember you from the Southland Orchid Show at Satomi's while I was shopping for neos and sedireas. :)

Hi Marissa, nice to hear from you on the forum! Did you end up buying anything at Satomi's? I of course walked away with about 4 new Neos!

Maybe i'll see you at one of the Spring shows...

    Treetop Orchids on Ebay

I received my first purchase from Treetop Orchids on Ebay. I'm totally satisfied with my purchase and will definitely do business with him again. Healthy plants, fast and reasonable shipping, reasonable prices. Oh yeah, I got the Denbrobium aberrans and Tolumnia sylvestris. :)

I just received a box of Pleione bulbs from Sean of Hana Farms in Oregon. I bought from him last year and all of the pleiones did really well, so jumped when I got a list from him last week.

On the other hand, I bought 3 Pleione species at the WOC from Sun Moon Orchids. One of the species was clearly misidentified, but I bought them anyway. Many never grew and others have struggled. I wouldn't buy from them again.

I'm a regular customer of Tropical Orchid Farm in Maui. I have always been very pleased with every order. Jeff Parker has replied to all of my emails, too.

I've heard a lot of good things about TOF but have never ordered with them before.

I'd have to say Andy is a favorite of mine.

Hey Bob. No, I've not yet made it up there yet. I have some orchiding friends in that area that want to visit Jewell's place too, we are just having a hard time finding the time. Soon, I hope. I'll be sure to give a full report of our trip.

Are they totally out of bussiness? I read somewhere PP will be a vendor at one of those west-coast shows in 2010.

Andy's, definitely, for their stellar customer service. How many other vendors call you two weeks after shipping to see how the new arrivals are doing? J&L also gets my vote. I like to stop there on the way back from weekends in Boston; always tons of unusual stuff, and the ladies who run it are a hoot. Last time they let me sneak in back to look at all the stuff they don't have out for sale.

    My favorite vendors are:

Orchids & more from Germany. They have lots of Bulbos in their greenhouses and also in their OnlineShop. But also many other Orchids. Over 4000 different Species. (But not all species are offered in the online shop.) They have 3 very big greenhouses.
And they send Worldwiede. They regulary make Imports from (for example) Mexico, Taiwan, Phillipines, Peru, Malaysia, ect. ...

Kopf Orchieen from Germany too. They have also much rare Orchids. Mostly miniature Orchids, but not only. Tey offer also lots of Bulbos and other species. And the Online shop is also very nice. Tehy have growing area about 900 qm.

M&M Orchideen are also from Germany. They have some interessting orchids. They also have 3 greenhouses and a growing area about 1500 qm.

    and at last...

Orchideeën Wubben from Netherlands. They also have very nice and some rare Orchids. Some rare Bulbos too. They have a good Online Shop too. I think they send also Worldwide.

Hope you like them also. awww.forum.orchideen_forum.de_images_smilies_happy.gif

My top two favourites are Botanica Ltd. and Andy's Orchids. Very well grown, healthy good-size plants for fair prices. It doesn't hurt that they both focus on species that I like to grow too.
