I got this last year at a hardware store with no label, I like the flowers and the plant grows very well, I consider it a keeper, 5 spikes on 3 growths.
I have been looking onling but have yet to see this type.

    Thanks for any help, Gary

You probably have a intergeneric hybrid called a Zygonisea. It is a cross between a Zygopetalum (species or hybrid) with Acacallis cyanea. It could be Zygonisea Cynosure.

The acacallis part is supposed to be warm grower, so this hybrid is not as temperature tolerant as a straight zygo would be. You may want to protect it if growing outdoors. Maybe down to 45 degrees is ok.

Gary, what is that in the hanging basket with the long light green stems?

Zygonisia Cynosure has sepals with a similar form, but I've never seen one with as much yellow in it. I would also assume any big box store would carry the 'Blue Birds' clone, seeing as how that is the most popular.

Thanks for the input, only in the picture they appear yellow, I have bluebird and that is different in plant and flower.

The gray hanging plant is Dicondra, it makes for a great hanging basket but it needs a lot of water.
